With Skodel check-ins your name can be hidden or identified. There will be a banner at the top of your check-in as you complete it and it will say "this check-in is confidential" or "this check-in is NOT anonymous".
Skodel is designed so that your responses cannot be traced back to you. Your organisation uses one of two access models. Both protect individual anonymity, but they work differently. Your organisation should let you know which one applies to you.
**Internal model: managed by your organisation**
Your HR or WHS team can view results directly in the Skodel platform. Names and personally identifiable information are never shown alongside responses. Group results are only displayed once the 5 response threshold is reached.
If your survey includes open-ended questions, be mindful of what you share in free-text responses. Specific details about your role, team, or situation could inadvertently identify you even without your name attached.
**External model: managed by Skodel**
Skodel's team manages the platform on your organisation's behalf. Your organisation does not have direct access to the platform or its data. They receive a sanitised report from Skodel that presents findings at a group level, with all individual data removed before it reaches them.
Skodel acts as an independent intermediary, providing an additional layer of separation between your responses and your employer.
**What stays the same across both models**
In both models, names are never attached to responses. Demographic breakdowns are only shown where group sizes are large enough to prevent identification. If you are unsure which model your organisation uses, or have questions about how your data is handled, speak with your HR or WHS contact or reach out to Skodel directly.
